The best ways to improve the accuracy of machine learning models are to increase the amount of labeled data ingested and/or re-label existing data. Deep Learning models in particular perform best with meaningful training datasets that contain millions to billions of examples for complex machine learning applications, and it takes months and massive amounts of manpower to get them labeled. With self-adjusting pipelines, Jaxon adapts to each organization’s nuanced data and domain-specific terminology. Training sets are created using existing data, as well as new text streaming in from online and internal sources. Scott is a serial technologist and patented inventor with a penchant for pushing the envelope of innovation. Scott was a pioneer in the wireless imaging industry, having created one of the first systems able to send images and data to mobile devices for Federal, State, and Local First Responders. This system grew into an interoperability platform for seamless cross-domain data exchange for civilian and defense agencies, healthcare, and private-sector stakeholders.
Through his company, DropFire, Scott successfully licensed and commercialized intellectual property from MIT to revolutionize the data management domain. With a mission of “Better Data, Better Insights”, DropFire’s data transformation platform enabled Big Data teams to collaborate and drive analytics with a wider variety of higher-quality data. DropFire pushed the bounds of machine reasoning applied to automatic data transformation.
As Co-Founder, Scott then brought his passion for cutting-edge technology to BigR.io, a Big Data and Machine Learning consulting firm that specializes in building high-volume, highly-available systems, deep neural networks, and custom advanced analytics portals for the Fortune 500.
Greg has an extensive background in enterprise data architecture, applications, and automation. Prior to founding Jaxon, he spent over fifteen years in CTO and architect roles developing technology strategies and platforms to drive business. His past work has been utilized by organizations ranging from Fortune 100 companies to startups and has been commercialized for millions of end users.
Along the way, Greg has co-founded two companies, DropFire and BigR.io, that embrace data-driven machine reasoning and AI techniques as core strategic assets within their technology visions. The evolution of AI has been a strong driver, and he has been deeply involved with not only the core technologies but also the data infrastructure needed to support them.
Greg has been working with data-driven applications for nearly two decades. Early in his career, he worked on the automated conversion of websites into data-driven interfaces for then-nascent mobile devices. He has watched these technologies evolve over the years and is excited to contribute to the next evolutionary stage with Jaxon.
Greg earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
Paul is a career business executive with over 35 years of experience as a sales and marketing executive at large companies, including IBM and Motorola, as well as startup organizations. As the Vice President of Sales for Guardium, Inc., Paul spearheaded Guardium’s growth from $3.7 million in revenue to $1 billion. Guardium was acquired by IBM in 2009 for $225 million, producing nearly a 10X multiple for investors. After Guardium’s acquisition, he stayed on at IBM and served 9+ years as the business unit executive at IBM.
Prior to Guardium, he held sales executive roles at startups, including Courion (acquired by K1) where he led 70% year-over-year growth. Paul started his career at Motorola where he ended up managing a startup division that took specialized IT and communication products originally developed for government use, commercialized them, and then brought them to market.
Considered a thought leader in sales strategy and execution, Paul possesses deep go-to-market experience across many market segments including financial services, healthcare, and eCommerce.
Paul received his Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Finance from Bryant University.
Director of Engineering
As the leader of the Engineering team for Jaxon, Sushil has prodigious experience in building highly-scalable, highly-available distributed communication systems and real-time applications.
Prior to Jaxon, Sushil served as Principal Software Architect for BigR.io, where he led an immensely successful development team in designing and implementing a large-scale medical image exchange that securely turns over 10s of terabytes of data weekly across organizational boundaries and disparate systems. Sushil also helped found a successful startup that innovated and supplied high-capacity switching gear deployed in the AT&T Core Network. He participated in standard-setting bodies including ATM-Forum and IETF where he made several contributions. He holds a patent in high-speed switching.
Sushil has been central to standards compliance for Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) initiatives, including HL7 and XDS/DICOM adherence. He was a key figure in executing a large-scale data ingest pipeline and NoSQL store for eBay Enterprise (120B+ transactions/year, 5M transactions/minute at peak).
Sushil earned his Bachelor of Science in Electrical & Electronics with Specialization in Digital Electronics from the London South Bank University. Sushil also studied Data Structures & Algorithms at WPI and is an expert in architecture/design, Java/C++, Eiffel, Linux, routing & internet protocols, highly-available systems, and NoSQL databases.
Dr. Robert Jones
Principal Data Scientist
Rob has over 30 years of experience in the field of electronics, electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, and data science. He has special expertise in artificial intelligence and adaptive, data-driven algorithms, machine learning methods, and embedded systems design and development. He has strong talents in advanced mathematics, statistics, and theory/application of stochastic process models and stochastic optimization. He has also enjoyed research, defense, and commercial industries.
Rob has worked with NASA for many years, as well as for and with companies large and small, and has successfully led many projects and teams. Prior to starting his own company, he developed advanced machine learning software, intellectual property, and applications for a small business that was ultimately acquired by Nokia. He approaches all of his work from sound and often advanced theory, then applies it with formal and rigorous engineering is both software and hardware. He has successfully led teams, managed projects, and been a principal technical contributor to many R&D and engineering programs in the public and private sectors worth millions of dollars.
After spending so much time in aerospace and defense, Rob has welcomed a change working in utilities, energy, IIoT, biotech, and fintech. Though he dovotes himself passionately to technical work, he has also enjoyed being the Director of Software Engineering, Director of Data Science, and Chief Scientist for several companies, and now serves as Chief AI Engineer for The Intelligence Factory and Principal Data Scientist for Jaxon. He has a love of mentoring and educating others on technical subjects.
Principal Data Scientist
As a Principal Data Scientist, Brad has spent over 10 years conducting and implementing Machine Learning research with a focus on Deep Learning applications for image segmentation, facial recognition, neural machine translation, and more. As a Chief Analytics Officer, Brad also oversaw all quantitative research including discrete choice models, customer segmentations, and key driver analysis.
Before delving into Machine Learning research as a Data Scientist, Brad served as an instructor at the University of Utah. During this time, he helped create and teach a new course on quantitative business research wherein students collected and analyzed real- world data related to the customers of sponsoring companies for the project.
Brad is a natural and relentless problem solver who develops insights into customer behavior and introduces new approaches to transform complex behavioral data into actionable information. He is also adept at leveraging enhanced data mining techniques and assists in analytic project design.
Brad earned his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and M. Stat in Econometrics from the University of Utah.
Machine Learning Engineer
Alan is a dedicated Software Engineer, System Administrator, and Consultant with proven skills in myriad languages, tools, and technologies. He has built and maintained small-to medium-sized business networks and web applications with multi-paradigm programming using Lisp-based languages. He also has extensive experience with system administration of Unix and Windows networks through automation tools and remote monitoring. Alan is an expert at providing expertise on a wide range of vital technical issues.
Alan’s past projects and work focus on process automation, DevOps, and web development with experience in every layer of the software stack. He spent several years in the healthcare industry, where he built systems to process patient data in an active clinical setting. Prior to his work with Jaxon, Alan utilized his experience with HIPAA compliance, as well as traditional and single-page web applications, REST APIs, and Big Data processing.
Alan received his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Kansas State University.
Sr. QA Automation Engineer
Laura has an extensive background as an experienced software quality professional with over six years of experience designing test cases, executing manual functional tests (integration, system, user acceptance, and regression), and coordinating activities with development teams. She is adept at bug tracking, test reporting, and managing test activities, as well as having mastered basic and intermediate programming skills. Laura shines in facilitating team collaboration and coordination to complete tasks at hand when complex problems arise.
Laura earned her Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California.
Director of Linguistics
Charlotte is captivated by linguistics and the use of natural language in business. Having always been interested in languages, and having learned 5 of them throughout her life, she enjoys finding ways to combine linguistics and language in general with her role as the Linguistics Specialist for Jaxon. Beyond the technical aspects of her career, Charlotte has a dedicated customer-centric focus on building relationships. Most recently, she has worked in several sales and management roles in the banking sector.
Charlotte has a keen ability to creatively assess the needs of complex processes. Her focus on people combined with a strong research and writing skillset and an enthusiasm for organization allow her to be an adaptable and capable asset for every organization she has been a part of. Prior to the commercial world, she was first in academia and then served as a Peace Corps Youth Development Volunteer in rural areas of Morocco.
Director of Marketing
Carly is an avid researcher and leader with copious experience developing marketing strategies to help achieve business goals. She specializes in developing and implementing strategies to strengthen company market presence and developing company identity initiatives. Prior to starting with Jaxon, Carly served as Director of Marketing on the leadership team for BigR.io, overseeing Marketing Engagement to drive productivity and collaboratively provide strategic thought leadership and marketing direction across all business functions.
In the past, Carly served as Marketing Coordinator for various startups and other large-scale companies, where she developed a proven and successful track record in scaling growth using modern B2B and B2C marketing strategies and tactics, including digital marketing, direct marketing, and event coordination. In addition to her strong planning, analytics, communications, and writing skills, she is also an adept strategic, creative, and results-focused critical thinker.
Carly earned her Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts degrees in English with a focus in Rhetoric and Composition from Kansas State University and holds a Professional and Technical Writing Certificate.
